Massacre at Bramble Lea

Design Experts - Thursday, October 23, 2008
Well its happened...  the bandits (foxes) have taken my babies.  It was a massacre, feathers everywhere.  White & black...   bodies half eaten & left on the ground.

My white silkies have gone... except one little girl sitting on her egg.

My Wyandottes have gone...  except the rooster.  I am thankful that I have two girls who were sitting on eggs.  So at least I have a trio.

It was a sad morning in our household.  I am getting tears just thinking about it.

Thats all for now...

Oh no!
That is terrible.
I hate those foxes.

Oh what a disaster you poor thing. You must be so distraught. That calls for one or two stiff drinks at a minimum. A small mercy in that at least some are left to you. Take care,
Teresa

O Kylie I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. That's just devastating! I hope you re-build the colonies up again soon.

Damn foxes, I am sorry to read about your loss. If you dont mind me asking - How did the fox/foxes get to your babies. We have just invested in a few new additions to our suburban backyard and are paranoid about the coup and run being secure. Do you see foxes through the day?
Regards Scott

we dont usually see foxes during the day.... however i think it was a family as they took 5 chooks & killed 2. Our fences arnt that great & they broke through them into the day yards. Then pens themselves are very secure... but not the yards. I guess you live & learn.

My girls and their chicks have gone too and foxes are the likely culprits. Only found out after they were gone that two adult foxes and two cubs had been seen down the road days before the disappearance.Pekin, silkie, lanshan and pilkington rock breeds. All gone.Heartbreaking.
